A cask strength Texas straight rye whiskey from Still Austin, bottled straight from the barrel at 58% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made from 100% Texas-grown Brasetto rye, all of it grown on a single family-owned farm in Texas.
Brasetto is described as a softer rye than the traditional Abruzzi variety, with fruit, spice and pastry-like notes.
The nose is cherry cobbler with a buttery cinnamon crust, candied ginger, lemon peel and apricot coffee cake. The palate brings grilled peaches with mint ice cream, apple and marzipan dumplings and gingerbread with lemon zest. The finish is long and spicy, with baking spices in brown butter, muddled cherries and mint.
