Stranahan's Diamond Peak is a Colorado single malt, distilled from 100% malted barley in Denver and bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is a limited annual release in a series that changes its cask finish each year.
The whiskey is produced in small batches and first aged in virgin American oak barrels with a number 3 char.
The nose offers raisin, fig, candied orange and dried apricot, with espresso and old cedar beneath. Chocolate malt and hazelnut shape the palate, alongside berries, orange and brown sugar. The finish is dry and medium in length, with dark chocolate and toasted oak.
