Mountain Angel 12 Year Old is a Colorado single malt from Stranahan's, made from 100% malted barley and bottled at 47.3% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It spent twelve years in new, charred American oak and was then finished in port wine casks from Portugal. Denver's dry, high-altitude air took a heavy toll on the barrels, with some losing more than 80% of their contents to the angel's share. This January 2026 release follows the Mountain Angel 10 Year.
The tasting notes describe caramelised nectarine, fig paste and lavender on the nose, blueberry compote and ginger lemon tart on the palate, and a finish of vanilla wafer, mature oak and cigar wrapper.
