Stranahan's Original is an American single malt whiskey made in Denver, Colorado, from 100% malted barley. It is bottled in a 75cl bottle at 47% ABV, non-chill filtered.
It is a small-batch marriage of barrels aged four, five, six and seven years, matured in new American oak with a number 3 char. Stranahan's was founded in 2004 and was Colorado's first legal whiskey distillery since Prohibition.
The nose offers caramel-butterscotch and vanilla with maple syrup and leather. The palate has cinnamon-butter, vanilla and chocolate over warm caramel and spiced pear, with a creamy melted-brown-sugar texture. The finish brings light fruit, strong oak, rich tobacco and aged leather.
