An American single malt from Stranahan's in Denver, Colorado, finished in Spanish sherry casks and bottled at 47% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whiskey is made from 100% malted barley and double distilled. It is then finished in sherry butts from Andalusia, which held sherry for over 40 years.
The nose offers overripe cherry and sweet apple, then raisins, toasted almonds, worn leather and fresh hay. The palate is honeyed, with Montmorency cherry, black currant and fig, followed by nutty brine and walnut tannins. The finish is medium to long, with buttery caramel, whipped cream and brown sugar, fading into a smoked cayenne warmth.
