Strathearn – 8 2018/2026 Douglas Laing Sherry Hogshead

This is an 8-year-old Strathearn, distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2026 by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It is a single cask, matured in a sherry hogshead and bottled at natural cask strength. The sherry cask leads the character. The nose is full of plump raisins, burnt caramel and melted toffee. On the palate, candied orange peel cuts through layers of dark sugar and silky oak. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice, caramelised sugar and dried fruit.
