Strathearn Batch 2 is the second release from Strathearn Distillery, bottled at 50% ABV without added colouring or chill filtration. It is a vatting of 31 selected casks, among them stock inherited by the distillery and produced under Douglas Laing's ownership. The spirit was matured in ex-bourbon, virgin oak and ex-sherry oak casks, with ex-bourbon having the strongest influence.
The nose is rich and sweet, with sherry, orange zest, malted barley and honey. The full-bodied palate brings dark fruits, spices, toffee and caramel, and the long, buttery finish carries oak, ginger and toasted nuts.
