This is the first widely released single malt from Strathearn Distillery in Highland Perthshire, presented by the independent bottler Douglas Laing & Co. It is bottled at 50% ABV.
The whisky comes from 32 casks, which held bourbon, sherry and new oak. The distillery uses Maris Otter malt.
The nose is rich with malted barley and gentle oak. The palate is syrupy and mouth-coating, with honey, buttercream, baking spice and dried apricots. The finish is long and warming, with home baking and buttery oak biscuits.
