Strathearn Batch 1 is the first release from the Strathearn distillery in the Scottish Highlands, one of Scotland's smallest. The distillery was acquired by the Douglas Laing family in 2019. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The single malt has matured in a mix of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 50% with no chill-filtration or colouring.
The nose is malted barley and oak. The palate opens with honeyed notes, stewed fruits and warming baking spices. The finish is long and bold, with creamy, buttery toffee and spice.
