Strathisla 12 year old 2000s (70cl, 40%)

Known as the oldest operating distillery in Scotland, the majority of its produce ends up with Chivas Regals blends, but a small fraction does get through to become single malts and holds its title with respect, Chivas even refers to the Strathisla whisky as its ‘heart’. This bottling was Strathisla’s bottling in the 2000s but has since changed again. Once opened the aromas of oak, honey, wildflowers and sweet citrus, on the palate of roasted nuts, cinnamon pastry, and cooked apple which continue into a medium long finish with fruits, nuts and caramel.
