This is a single cask Strathisla from the distillery at Keith, distilled in 2009 and matured for 17 years in a first-fill sherry hogshead. Gordon & MacPhail selected the cask and bottled it at cask strength, 57.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The colour is dark amber, close to mahogany. On the nose there is candied orange and moist English fruit cake coated in dark chocolate. The palate brings syrupy caramel, cherry and raspberry jam and cocoa powder, before smouldering herbs, heather, dried flowers and old Cuban cigars appear late on.
