Strathisla 1954 is a Speyside single malt distilled in 1954 and matured for more than 50 years. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it in 2006 at 40% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Apple, dried apricot and blackcurrant aromas are joined by nutmeg, verbena and cedar. Spiced pear, toffee, roasted almond and dark chocolate give the palate a velvety character, with oak and vanilla alongside the fruit. Caramelised figs and gentle smoke linger through a medium-long, warming finish.
