This Strathisla is a nine-year-old Speyside single malt, distilled in 2016 and bottled by Signatory Vintage at 46% in its Un-Chillfiltered range. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring.
It matured in first-fill casks that previously held Pedro Ximenez, a sweet Spanish wine.
The nose offers candied figs, raisins and dates, with brown caramel, dark chocolate and a touch of coffee. On the palate, macerated dark fruit mixes with toffee, cocoa and gentle spice, in a full, velvety texture. The finish is long, with dried fruit, chocolate and wood.
