Strathmill – 15 Year Old Dram Hunters Rare Cask Series (359 Spirit Purveyors) (70cl, 55.9%)

This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Strathmill, released by 359 Spirit Purveyors in its Dram Hunters Rare Cask Series. It is a single cask bottling, matured entirely in a refill bourbon hogshead and drawn from the cask at natural strength, which yielded 243 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colour. The label points to Strathmill's long fermentation, which gives the spirit a lively fruit character. On the nose there is orchard fruit, honeyed malt, vanilla and gentle oak, with hints of citrus and soft spice. The palate is rich and warming, and the finish is sweet and lingering, with a depth of barrel character.
