Suntory Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Single Malt (70cl)

This is an 18 year old peated single malt from the Hakushu distillery, part of the House of Suntory. It is a core range bottling in a 70cl bottle, built around the peated malt that is particular to Hakushu. After eighteen years of maturation it takes on a Japanese smokiness, which is linked to the mountains and the green aromas of old temples. The aromas are fruity and floral. On the palate there are layers of smoke, herbal notes, grapefruit and acacia honey, followed by a finish of clean smoke and fresh green citrus.
