Hakushu Story of the Distillery 2026 Edition is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's forest distillery in Yamanashi, in a 700ml bottle at 43% ABV. The malt is smoky, with bourbon-barrel-matured whisky at the heart of the composition.
The forest-themed bottle shows the distillery's bird sanctuary and its forest-conservation story. The year belongs to the edition and is not an age statement.
On the nose it offers pineapple, vanilla cream and roasted hojicha. The palate is light and soft, with gentle wasanbon-sugar sweetness and faint bitterness, leading to a finish of ember smoke and bittersweet notes.
