Suntory Toki Japanese Whisky (75cl, 43%)

Toki is a blended Japanese whisky from Suntory, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The name means time in Japanese. It was developed by Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory's fourth Chief Blender. The blend rests on two pillars: Hakushu malt aged in American white oak, and Chita heavy-type grain whisky, with Yamazaki adding fruit and depth. It is light, slightly sweet and subtly spicy, and suits a Highball as well as drinking neat. The nose has honeydew melon, green apple and basil. The palate is smooth and light, with mild honey sweetness and subtle herbal notes. The finish is short and slightly spicy, with a clean note of ginger.
