Sweetens Cove Kennessee Bourbon is a barrel-proof blend of Kentucky and Tennessee bourbons, bottled at 55.35% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The name joins the two states, and the blend was put together by Marianne Eaves.
The bourbons are made from corn, rye and malted barley. The blend is then finished in stainless steel tanks containing toasted sugar maple wood spirals, which add maple sweetness and extra wood character without the tannin of a barrel finish. It carries no age statement.
The nose brings graham cracker, orange peel, roasted pecans and vanilla custard. On the palate come maple candy, pecan pie, cinnamon, caramel and raspberry jam. The finish is long, with tobacco leaf, sandalwood, maple and stone fruit.
