A red wine from Columbia Valley, made mainly from Syrah with Viognier and, in some vintages, Merlot and/or Malbec.
The grapes come mainly from Wahluke Slope and Horse Heaven Hills. Fermentation includes whole berries, daily pump-overs and malolactic fermentation, followed by 14-16 months in a mix of new and old French and American oak barrels, about one third new.
It has a dark ruby colour, with dried spice, small berries and violets on the nose. The palate shows meaty richness, dark berries, cedar, black pepper and rounded tannin.
