Talisker – 10 Year Old (75cl, 45.8%)

Talisker 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Talisker distillery at Carbost on the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is a medium-peated island malt. The spirit is distilled on the shores of Loch Harport beneath the Cuillin hills, from peated malt in swan-neck stills, and matured for ten years. A peppery catch at the back of the throat is the distillery's signature. The nose is powerful, with peat smoke, sea-water saltiness and citrus sweetness. The palate is rich with dried fruit, smoke and barley malt, with pepper at the back, and the finish is long, warming and peppery with an appetising sweetness.
