Talisker – 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl)

Talisker 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Isle of Skye. The distillery was established in 1830 at Carbost, on the shores of Loch Harport, and is the oldest working distillery on the island. The whisky matures for a minimum of ten years, mainly in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads. Its full-bodied character owes much to the copper pot stills, which have swan-necked lye pipes and worm tubs, and to soft water from springs on Hawk Hill. The nose is smoky, with pencil shavings, seaweed, green apple and a hint of baked banana. On the palate come pepper, fruit and rich smoke, followed by a long, peppery finish.
