Talisker – 11 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Special Release 2022) (70cl, 55.1%)

Talisker 11 Year Old is the 2022 Special Release from Skye, in a 70cl bottle at 55.1% ABV. It forms part of the Diageo Special & Rare collection, called Elusive Expressions that year, which was curated by Master Blender Dr Craig Wilson and themed around mythical creatures. Each bottle carries its own QR code, linking to the story of the whisky and to tasting notes. The whisky was matured in, and blended from, first-fill ex-bourbon casks, refill casks and wine-seasoned casks. The nose is briny and maritime, with iodine, medicinal notes, bitumen, tobacco leaf and saddle leather. The palate is softer and rounded, built on earthy peat, and the wine casks leave it drier and more savoury.
