Talisker – 25 Years Old (Bottled 2004) (70cl, 57.8%)

An official Talisker single malt from the Isle of Skye, aged 25 years and bottled in 2004 at natural cask strength, 57.8%, in a 70cl bottle. It has a full, generous palate in which hot spices are balanced by shortbread and syrupy notes. The nose combines honeysuckle, beeswax, pineapple and lychee juice with hints of fruity smoke and carbolic soap. On the palate come freshly cut boards, tropical fruit syrup, muddy peat, a hint of violet and juicy orange over light smoke. The finish carries aniseed, light wood and sawdust, with floral notes lingering.
