This Talisker was distilled on 3 March 1987 and bottled at 39 years old from cask 22601101, at cask strength, 51.4% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is a Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice release and the last Talisker the bottler will release.
The nose has ripe raisins, warm clove and a touch of leather, with fresh mandarin peel moving to walnuts and prunes. The palate brings full figs and ripe strawberries with freshly ground black pepper, then fine cocoa, pressed apple and dried tobacco. The finish is long and spicy, with lasting citrus and a hint of ash.
