Talisker Distillers Edition 2023 is a single malt from the Talisker distillery in Carbost on the Isle of Skye, bottled at 45.8% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is the 2023 release of a double-matured range that has appeared annually since 1997.
The whisky is first matured in refill American oak and European oak. It is then finished in re-charred American oak casks seasoned with Amoroso sherry, with heavily re-charred new American oak ends.
The nose brings sea air, seaweed, smoke, sweet malt and sultana. The palate is oily and peppery, with woody spice, roasted fig and sweet date. The finish is long and drying, with peat smoke and cocoa nibs.
