Talisker Distillers Edition is a single malt from Skye, the island off the north-west coast of Scotland whose only distillery is Talisker. The whisky is finished in casks that once held Amoroso sherry. This second maturation adds a fruity sweetness to the malt and softens its peaty, peppery strength, while the smoky, spicy character of Talisker remains. Amoroso is a sweeter sherry than oloroso, and its sweetness takes over from the dryness of the oak tannins, with gentle spices in place of pepper.
