Talisker Magma is a 47 year old Island single malt from the distillery on the Isle of Skye, and the oldest Talisker bottling to date. It is a distillery bottling at 48.8% in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 622 bottles.
The whisky was finished in casks toasted with Skye volcanic rock.
The nose has wet rock, seaweed and salt crystals, layered with sweet toffee, gentle pepper and a distant bonfire. The palate is creamy and mineral, with toffee sweetness, spice and a building chilli warmth. The finish is long, warming and peppery, leaving a smoky aftertaste.
