A 14-year-old Teaninich released as a charity edition for the Captain Paul Watson Foundation, which works to protect the oceans and marine ecosystems. It is bottled at 52.3% ABV in a 50cl bottle.
The whisky matured for 10 years in a refill bourbon cask, then spent 4 years finishing in a first-fill PX hogshead dating from 1981.
The nose combines raisin, date and fig with orange marmalade, honey, caramel and a little leather. The palate is oily and full, with molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, roasted almonds and dark chocolate, lifted by citrus zest. The finish is medium and warm, with cocoa, espresso and drying oak.
