A 23-year-old Highland single malt from Teaninich, from 1972, and part of the Rare Malts Selection from Diageo. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 64.95% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
Teaninich is known for a distinctly herbal character, and a little water is said to deepen the flavours.
The nose offers lemon zest and fresh green herbs with caramel, pepper and nutmeg. On the palate there is honey and apricot with light spice and vanilla, and the finish is long and crisp, with herbal notes and refined oak.
