Teeling 32 Year Old Purple Muscat Finish

A 32 year old single malt Irish whiskey from a single cask, finished in Portuguese Purple Muscat. It is the first bottling in the Very Rare Casks Collection. The whiskey was distilled in 1990 and spent 28 years in bourbon barrels. It then had a further four years in a single toasted French oak cask from the Setubal region, outside Lisbon, that had held Purple Muscat. The nose is ripe red fruits in caramel, with chocolate walnuts and vanilla cream. The palate brings dried cherries, plums, sultanas and figs with warm, dry wood tannins. The finish is strong wood spice with caramel fudge and milk chocolate sweetness.
