Teeling Blackpitts is a peated Irish single malt from Dublin, triple distilled from 100% malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered.
It matures first in ex-bourbon casks and is then finished in ex-Sauternes French wine casks. The name comes from the Blackpitts area of Dublin, once associated with malt kilns and smoke.
The nose has barbecue smoke and cloves, softening to butterscotch and orange peel. The palate brings applewood smoke, raw honey, allspice, stewed pear and grilled pineapple, then dried fruit and dark chocolate. The finish is medium to long, with salted caramel and savoury smoke.
