Teeling – Blackpitts Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

Teeling Blackpitts is a peated single malt Irish whiskey from the Teeling distillery in Dublin, in a 750ml bottle at 46% ABV. The barley is dried over peat to around 55 parts per million of phenols and triple-distilled, then matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Sauternes casks. It is non-chill filtered, with no added colouring. The name comes from the old Blackpitts district behind the Newmarket distillery, once home to malting houses and tanneries. The nose brings barbecue smoke, charred wood and clove. On the palate, butterscotch, salted caramel and dark chocolate sit beneath the smoke, and the finish is warm pepper and dry smoke that lingers.
