Teeling Crystal Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Teeling Crystal is a limited edition Irish single malt from Teeling Distillery, named after the crystal malt used in its mashbill alongside distiller's malt. Crystal malt is a barley normally used in brewing, with a partly caramelised character. The whiskey was fermented twice, with distiller's yeast and white wine yeast, then triple distilled and matured in virgin American oak casks. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration, in a 70cl bottle. The nose offers green apples and baked pears, with brown sugar, vanilla and light oak. On the palate caramel, apple cake, spice and fresh pastry lead to honeyed sweetness. The finish is long, with gentle cinnamon and caramel.
