Teeling Single Grain is a column-distilled Irish single grain whiskey from Teeling Distillery in Dublin, in a 750ml bottle at 46% ABV. The mash is 95% corn and 5% malted barley, and it is bottled without chill filtration.
It spends its whole five years of maturation in ex-California Cabernet Sauvignon red wine barrels, rather than a short wine finish. It was named Best Irish Single Grain at the 2017 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose offers red berries, grapes and ripe plums with cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. The palate opens with spice and toasted oak, then red berries and damson. The finish is dry and medium-long, with wood tannins and spice.
