Teeling 'Wonders of Wood' Virgin Chinkapin Oak Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

This is the first release in Teeling's limited-edition Wonders of Wood series, a single pot still Irish whiskey bottled at 50% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made from 50% malted and 50% unmalted barley, triple-distilled in Dublin and bottled without chill filtration. It is fully matured in virgin Chinkapin American white oak, a wood native to eastern and central North America that brings a gingerbread and banana bread sweetness. The nose shows roasted sweet chestnut, marron glace, licorice, pecan and treacle. The palate has black fruits, forest honey, clove, cola and Brazil nut over banana bread sweetness. Wood spice lingers in the finish with dark chocolate and a hint of black pepper.
