Telmont Vinothèque 2012 Champagne (75cl, 12%)

Telmont Vinothèque 2012 is a vintage brut Champagne from the 2012 harvest, a year of a long, rainy winter followed by a sun-drenched summer. It blends Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir, and was disgorged in 2021. Sixty-seven per cent of the wine was vinified in oak casks, and it did not go through malolactic fermentation. The dosage is 7.6 g/L, which keeps it dry. It is bottled at 12% vol. The nose is toasted bread and dried fruit, with almond and citrus. The palate opens with a lively, brisk attack softened by a little vanilla, then moves to ripe pear. The finish is fresh almonds and grapefruit.
