Templeton Rye Barrel Strength is a straight rye whiskey bottled at the strength the barrels give it, so the proof changes with each annual edition. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the whiskey is matured in flame-charred new American oak. It is distilled in Indiana and bottled in Templeton, Iowa, without chill filtering.
The series is known for intense rye spice and black pepper over dried and summer fruits, with honeyed oak and a long, warming, spice-led finish.
