Tenjaku is a Japanese blended whisky from Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is a blend of three-, five- and six-year-old whiskies, double distilled in copper pot stills from a mashbill of 86% corn and 14% barley.
The water comes from groundwater drawn 250 metres down in the Misaka Mountain range of the Mt. Fuji basin.
The nose is sweet, with ripe pear, dried fruit, a light floral note of elderflower and a little smoke. On the palate come pear, banana and honey with a faint smokiness. The finish is moderately long, moving to white oak, mild spice and a peppery close.
