Tenjaku Japanese Whisky (75cl, 40%)

Tenjaku is a blended Japanese whisky made in Fuefuki, in Yamanashi, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was created by master blender Kenji Watanabe, who draws on many years of winemaking as well as whisky. The blend uses natural spring water from the Misaka mountains, taken from 250 metres down and filtered through porous volcanic rock. The name is the Japanese characters for the skylark. The nose is faintly smoky, with sweet pear and dried fruit. The palate is mellow and well rounded after a slightly edgy start, and the finish is long and slightly spicy, with white oak and a spreading sweetness.
