Tenuta Casenuove 2021 Chianti Classico (75cl, 14.5%)

This is a 2021 Chianti Classico from Tenuta Casenuove, an estate near Panzano in Chianti in Tuscany, made from Sangiovese. It is a red wine of 14.5% abv in a 75cl bottle. The vineyards lie fairly high, so day and night temperatures differ considerably. Until mid-June evenings rarely rise above 13 degrees, which lets the grapes ripen in a balanced way and adds to the wine's power and elegance. The colour is an intense ruby red. The nose shows ripe red and black fruit such as cherry and blackberry, with subtle spice and vanilla. The palate is round and fresh, with balanced acidity and good tannic structure, and the finish is dry and lasting.
