Tequila 30-30 Añejo is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Los Altos de Jalisco, made in Capilla de Guadalupe. It is aged for around 18 to 20 months in used American oak barrels that previously held Kentucky bourbon.
The barrels bring vanilla, caramel and a touch of chocolate, while the cooked agave sweetness stays at the centre. Oak shows as toasted sweetness and gentle spice rather than dryness, and the texture is rounded and easy.
On the nose there is cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, light honey and a hint of chocolate. The palate offers butterscotch, baking chocolate, dried fruit and soft oak spice. The finish is smooth and medium-long, with lingering vanilla and toasted oak.
