Tequila Ocho Extra Añejo Single Barrel 'La Canada' 2022 (75cl, 52.5%)

This is a single barrel Extra Añejo tequila from Tequila Ocho, made from agave grown at Rancho La Canada, a hillside field sloping southward at an average elevation of 2,115 metres. It is bottled at 52.5% abv in a 75cl bottle. The agave is cooked slowly in masonry ovens for 36 hours, fermented in wooden vats and distilled twice, the second time in a small copper still. It then rests for three years in American oak barrels. The nose shows red apple, cinnamon, plum, dark chocolate, anise and sweet vanilla. On the palate come caramelised apples, black pepper, clove, roasted coffee and orange peel, sweet yet complex.
