This is a 21-year-old Speyside single malt from Glentauchers, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company in a 50cl bottle at 47.1% ABV. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered, with 803 bottles released.
The label nods to the time Glentauchers experimented with silent malt, which is malt whisky distilled in column stills.
The nose combines salted caramel, chocolate digestive, red apples, morello cherry jam, nutty barley, vanilla beans and oak. The palate has marmalade on brown toast with melted butter, dried fruit, burnt sugar, citrus and garden herbs, with oak spice throughout. The finish recalls bread and butter pudding with a hint of struck match.
