The Arran Malt Barrel Reserve is an unpeated Island single malt from the distillery on the Isle of Arran, off the west coast of Scotland. It is matured primarily in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% ABV, or 86 proof, in a 70cl bottle.
The ex-bourbon maturation is credited with its bright vanilla and orchard-fruit character.
On the palate it shows vanilla, green apple, citrus and light malt, with a clean body. The finish is fresh, smooth and lightly spiced.
