The Arran – Port Cask Finish (50%)

A single malt from The Arran, bottled at 50% ABV after a finish in Port casks. The whisky first matured for about 8 years in traditional oak casks, then spent time in Port casks from an artisan producer of the Portuguese fortified wine. The maturation was overseen by the distillery's Master Distiller. The nose is cinnamon and baked apples. The palate has vanilla spice, ripe citrus, dried fruits and nuttiness, and with a splash of water shows mandarin, fudge and honey. The finish brings spice, bitter orange, chocolate and cherries.
