The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 43% ABV. It is aged for twelve years, first in traditional oak barrels and then in European oak sherry casks.
The sherry casks bring dried fruit, nuts and a little spice, and the texture is smooth and honeyed. On the nose, vanilla, honey and toffee lead, with oak and dried fruit following as the whisky opens up.
