The Balvenie – 12 Year Old Single Barrel First Fill

This is a 12 year old single malt from The Balvenie, matured in a first fill ex-bourbon cask. First fill means the cask is being used for Scotch for the very first time after its previous life holding bourbon. The Malt Master chose casks marked by sweetness and subtle vanilla oak for this bottling. Each bottle is drawn from one cask, is hand-numbered and carries the number of the cask it matured in. The nose is honeyed, with sweet fruit and subtle spice. The palate is rich and complex, with deep vanilla oak, and the finish stays sweet for a long time.
