The Sweet Toast of American Oak is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from The Balvenie, part of its Stories range. It was created by Kelsey McKechnie, the distillery's apprentice malt master.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks, then finished in new Kentucky white oak casks that were imported from the United States and toasted at the distillery.
The nose offers malt, caramel, vanilla and citrus, then ginger, cinnamon, dark spices and oak. The palate is rich and deep, with malt, vanilla, fine spices, honey, caramel and candied citrus.
