The Balvenie Caribbean Cask is a 14 year old single malt Scotch whisky at 43%, in a 70cl bottle. It spends its first years in traditional oak casks before being finished in barrels that previously held Caribbean rum.
Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own mix of select West Indian rums, then replaced the rum with the aged spirit once he judged them ready.
The whisky is described as sweet and smooth, with toffee and a trace of fruit. The nose is rich toffee with crisp fruit, the palate rounded with vanilla and sweet oak, and the finish soft and lingering.
