The Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from the distillery in Dufftown, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
Most of its 14 years are spent in traditional oak. It is then finished in American oak casks that held a blend of West Indian rums selected by Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, before the rum was replaced with Balvenie spirit.
The nose is toffee, tropical fruit and brown sugar. On the palate come salted caramel, banana, vanilla and hot buttered rum, with a little black pepper. The finish is long and warming, with toffee and a faint spice.
